Why You Should Send Your Child To Elizabeth Macarthur High School

Elizabeth Macarthur High School is proud to be an excellent provider of public education in South Western Sydney.

Our school is a comprehensive high school with a Selective Stream commencing enrolment in 2010. Our school serves the Narellan area and has excellent relationships with its feeder primary schools,  Narellan,  Narellan Vale and Harrington Park Public Schools.

Our school caters for gifted and talented students through our Selective Stream (2010) and our extensive staff development within GAT education. We also provide a Self-Select class in Year 7 and a High Achiever’s class that has students from years 8, 9 and 10 working together on problem solving and higher order thinking skills.

Our assessment procedures and tasks set very high expectations for student engagement and achievement.  At its core our merit system promotes self motivation and encourages students to strive for their full potential as exceptional members of the community.

Our welfare system is underpinned by the school motto,  Respect,  Responsibility and Pride. We have Year Advisors for each year group who know their students well  and work to promote their wellbeing. We offer our students peer support, peer mediation, learning assistance, transition programs and in-class support.

Our teachers are engaged in constant high quality professional learning centred on the Quality Teaching Project. The aim of this professional learning is to increase the repertoire of learning strategies that staff can use to improve student learning outcomes.

Our curriculum is based on student choice.

We have three dedicated computer labs and a specific purpose lab in visual arts. We strive every day to support our students and their families to achieve their full potential.
