Parents and Citizens AssociationOn behalf of the Parents and Citizens Association, I would like to extend a warm welcome to your family. The Parents and Citizens Association meets in the school's staff common room at 7.30pm on the third Monday of each month. These meetings provide the opportunity for communication between teachers and parents and also for interaction between parents. It provides an opportunity for parents to discuss issues and sometimes problems, and to collaboratively develop solutions and innovative ideas about how we can further improve the educational opportunities available for our children. One way in which we have contributed to the enhancement of educational opportunities has been through fund raising and purchase of additional resources for the school. The school canteen, which is managed by a sub committee of the P & C, is our biggest fundraising body. The success of this venture is a tribute to the many parents who give generously of their time to work in the canteen. If you are able to assist by helping out in the canteen, please contact the canteen manager, Jan Donohoe on (02) 4647 1572, who is always happy to hear from new volunteers. This is of course another effective way of meeting other parents and “getting to know” your school and school staff. I hope that you will be able to participate in the Parents and Citizens Association. If we all work together, we can significantly improve our childrens’ school environment and educational opportunities and along the way we can meet many pleasant people and have an enjoyable time. We hope to see you at future meetings. |
